Here is a quick tip to help you properly align your shoulders for uphill and downhill lies.

A common issue that we see with uphill and downhill lies is that the youth athlete's shoulders are not aligned properly. We want the shoulders to match the angle of slope that they are playing from.

For downhill lies, if the player's shoulders are not angled properly the player will have a tendency to bury the club into the ground.

Here is a quick and easy tip to align your shoulders properly.

Use your lower side of the body as a guide.

Start in a vertical position with your torso, with the low side arm against your side.

  1. Slide the low side arm down your leg and STOP when it touches the very top of your kneecap.

  2. Now you can align the club and get into position and our shoulders are properly aligned for the slope that you are playing from.
